A week of ceramics and growth in Ljubljana
R
The workshop began on a beautiful, sunny Monday, when eight women gathered in Ljubljana at the stunning, spacious studio of artist Hana Karim. We came from all corners of Europe — Luxembourg, Spain, Sweden, Romania, and the Czech Republic — and among us were the two Croatian participants, Suzana and I.
The studio radiated warmth and light, and Hana, as our host, was truly inspiring. Warm, patient, and incredibly talented, she guided us through every step of the ceramic-making process. We learned how to create plates and cups, glaze, and experiment with shapes and colors. Every piece we made was created in an atmosphere filled with support, laughter, and creativity.
Each day felt special. Surrounded by the aromas of delicious vegan lunches served on Hana’s own handmade plates, alongside coffee, tea, and biscuits, we felt completely at home. This was not just a workshop — it was an experience that connected us more deeply, enriched us, and inspired us to continue creating.
Those seven days passed so quickly that we hardly noticed when it was time to say goodbye. We returned home filled with new knowledge, fresh ideas, and a renewed passion for creating. We see this experience as an important stepping stone on our future journey in the world of ceramics.
Thank you, Hana Karim, for everything you shared with us — your knowledge, support, and wonderful energy. We look forward to meeting again soon!
