The faint fingerprint on the rim. The glaze catches light differently each time.
The weight in your hands is substantial and considered, nothing like what you'd find in a store.
That's what we make. It holds your morning coffee, your favourite pasta dish, or a special home-cooked dinner for loved ones.
Who We Are
TESU is a mother-daughter ceramics studio. The name carries us both: TEa and SUzana.
We work without molds, shortcuts, or rushing. Everything is handmade in our studio, fired in small batches, and glazed with formulas we spent months developing.
If a piece doesn't feel right, it doesn't leave.
How it began
We sat in a small Istrian restaurant, exhausted from days of work that were not ours.
One of us said, half-joking: what if we built something of our own? We laughed. It felt far away. Then we started.
Tea on Mom
Meet Suzana
Suzana discovered her talent in her fifties. I encouraged her to be bold and create. Through workshops and travels, we learned more than ceramics. We learned about each other. She saw that motherhood doesn’t end when children grow up. It becomes a partnership, a friendship.
She fell in love with glazes. She mixes, tests, and refines them by hand. Now those glazes are Tesu’s signature: warm, unrepeatable, never mass-produced. She makes everyone who walks into our studio feel immediately at home. She’s the reason people stay longer than they planned.
Mom on Tea
Meet Tea
Tea once hated sculpture. She skipped classes at the Academy of Applied Arts in Rijeka and called clay "messy, demanding, and uncontrollable."
Now she can’t go a day without it. She needs the right atmosphere before she works: late-night jazz, candles, dim light, incense, and everything clean and tidy.
She is fully present in everything she makes. You can see it in the small imperfections — a faint fingerprint, a slightly uneven edge. She doesn’t promise perfection. She promises something real.
What you're bringing home
Every Tesu piece is made from high-quality stoneware, shaped for daily use, not just display.
Our glazes are food-safe and developed in-house, tested for months until right.
Each batch is small. None is repeated. Because each piece is handmade, yours will look slightly different from any photo. That’s not a flaw. That’s the point.
We take care with our packing. What leaves our hands should arrive in yours the same way.
More than an online shop
Our studio doubles as a Concept Store — handmade ceramics, specialty coffee, and work in progress you can watch being made.
We also run hands-on clay workshops where you can feel what it's like to shape something from nothing.
Whether you find us online or in person, you get something made slowly, by hand, by a mother and daughter who love what they do.
