Ceramic Care Guide
Washing ceramics in general
It is recommended to wash by hand, but the dishwasher can also be used!
Although ceramic cookware is generally dishwasher safe, hand washing is recommended to extend its life.
Use warm, soapy water and a soft sponge or cloth to clean the dishes.
Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads as they can scratch the glaze.
Use in the dishwasher (if desired)
If you decide to use the dishwasher, make sure the ceramic pieces are spaced apart to prevent them from hitting each other.
Use a gentle, non-abrasive dishwasher detergent.
Avoid a high temperature drying cycle, as extreme temperature changes can stress ceramic cookware and potentially cause it to crack.
Stain removal
For stubborn stains or food residue, soak the damaged piece in warm, soapy water before washing.
Baking soda and water paste can be used to remove stubborn stains. Apply the paste, let it sit for a short time, then rub it gently
Avoid sudden changes in temperature
Ceramic cookware can withstand use in the oven and microwave; however, avoid exposing it to extreme temperature changes.
Do not take ceramic dishes directly from the freezer and put them in a hot oven or microwave, as this can cause thermal shock and lead to cracking.
Heat the ceramics in the oven (optional)
When using ceramic in the oven, preheat the oven with the ceramic inside to prevent thermal shock.
Avoid placing frozen ceramics directly into a preheated oven.
Stacking and storage
When storing ceramic items, stack the pieces carefully, using a soft cloth or felt between them to prevent scratches.
Avoid tightly nesting ceramic objects for long periods of time, as this can lead to wear of the glaze.
Avoid abrasives and metal utensils:
Use wooden, plastic or silicone utensils to avoid scratching the glaze.
Avoid cutting directly on ceramic surfaces as this can damage both the cookware and your knives.
Glaze overview
Periodically inspect the glaze for signs of wear, cracks or chips. Discontinue use if you notice significant damage to the glaze.
