Discover the art of ceramics through our hands-on course, ideal for beginners as well as those wishing to refine their skills. You will learn fundamental clay techniques and handbuilding methods while creating your own unique pieces.
Enjoy plenty of practice time and explore your passion for ceramics in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

What You Will Learn

Discover the essential pottery techniques and develop the skills needed to turn your creative ideas into reality:

• Preparing clay (wedging)

• Pinching and coiling techniques

• Selecting and using essential tools

• Joining parts and adding handles

• Decorating with slips, underglazes, and sgraffito

• Slab-building techniques

• Using moulds

• Shaping cylinders and bowls with handbuilding methods

• Trimming to refine forms

• Creating foot rings

• Applying glazes to your own pieces

Course Structure – 8 Sessions (2h each)

Session 1:
Introduction to ceramics – materials, processes, and studio safety basics. Preparing clay and starting the first project.

Sessions 2–3:
Learning and applying handbuilding techniques – pinch, coil, and slab building. Beginning small projects such as cups and bowls.

Sessions 4–5:
Continuing personal projects – joining parts, adding handles, shaping larger forms such as vases or bowls. Introduction to decorative techniques (sgraffito, slips, textures).

Session 6:
Final opportunity to start new pieces. After this session, the focus will be on refining and preparing existing works for firing.

Session 7:
Glazing finished pieces, exploring different glazes and application methods.

Session 8:
Final glazing and preparation for the last firing. Closing discussion and project review. Finished works will be ready for collection 2–3 weeks after the end of the course.

Please Note

• Attendance at the first and last sessions is essential in order to successfully complete the course.

• Make-up classes or substitutions are not possible, as group sizes are limited.

Materials

All materials are provided for the course: clay, tools, slips, underglazes, moulds, and studio-mixed glazes.
The use of materials and tools is included in the course fee.

For works heavier than 4 kg, an additional firing fee of €5.85 per kilogram applies.

✹ The workshop is held in both Croatian and English.

If You Miss a Session

Missing one or two sessions is manageable, but we strongly recommend attending the first classes as they cover the fundamental techniques. If you miss a class, the instructor will help you catch up once you return.

Please note that make-up sessions or replacements are not available.

Refund & Transfer Policy

To ensure fairness for our staff and keep course prices accessible, our refund and transfer policy is as follows:

• Courses can be transferred to another date up to 28 days before the start.

• For changes made between 28 and 14 days before the start, an administrative fee of €20 applies.

• Within 14 days of the course start, bookings cannot be canceled or transferred.

Workshops under €50 - Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds for these workshops, but you can send someone else in your place or reschedule for another time.

All other workshops:
14 days in advance - we are able to refund 100% of your booking price, which you can use to rebook at a later date that suits you!
7-4 days in advance - we are able to refund 50% of your booking price.
48 hours - Unfortunately, with only 48 hours notice, we are unable to refund your booking cost.

Your pottery will be ready for collection within a month of the workshop. We will email you as soon as it is ready. You can pick it up at our studio (we would love to see you again!) or you have the option of having your pottery shipped to you. The works can be collected within 3 weeks of receiving notification that they are ready for collection. If the works are not collected within the given deadline, they will be donated.
